  1. Due to the recent crisis

India is the second-most populous country in the world and is home to billions of people of different origins. So overcrowding is a big problem. Here highly concentrated areas make social distancing difficult and social distancing itself prevents rapid transmission of disease during epidemics. Millions of people are in dire need of oxygen, but India doesn’t have the equipment to help. As a result, recent reports suggest a steady increase in the number of daily deaths.

Also, a change in the social distancing pattern in India may be the reason for the increase in the number of cases among the general population. Hindu festivals, as well as election rallies, have had a significant impact on infection rates in North India. In India’s capital Delhi, 16,699 cases were reported overnight after they attended a religious festival. On the banks of the Ganges in Uttarakhand, thousands of Indians gathered to practice their mass religious immersion to “wash away their sins”. However, the proximity of the population and urban mobility during these weeks led to a large increase in cases and contributed to the alarming spread of the epidemic.
